Question

Free access to the NYTimes.com

I am wondering if there is a way to access the New York Times publications via their mobile phone apps through Boley's log-on credentials or if we have to go through the library's portal to see the content?

Answer

You can read the NYT at nytimes.com or via the New York Times mobile apps once you've signed up for your free Lewis & Clark-associated subscription. Just use your subscription info with the site and mobile app and your subscription information will work with the app. You can follow the instructions under New York Times to start your subscription or below:

The L&C community can enjoy unlimited access to the New York Times. To activate your pass for free access, follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://lawlib.lclark.edu/law/nyt
  2. Enter and select "Lewis & Clark College" when prompted to find your school.
  3. Select Create Account, and use your @lclark.edu email address to log in or register. Follow the simple instructions to create your account.

Once activated, your pass will provide unlimited and uninterrupted access to NYTimes.com from any location for six months. After the six months, use this same process to sign up again. If you currently pay for a subscription, you'll need to cancel it before signing up for this service.

Note: "Lewis & Clark Law School" appears in the Find School... search results, but don't select this, as complimentary access only works if you select "Lewis & Clark College".
