What to do with Lost & Found items?
This FAQ will give you the information and steps for what to do with Lost & Found items.
Answer
When someone turns found items into the Circulation Desk for our Lost & Found, place items in the milk crate under the desk, with more minor things in the red tin. Make sure to date the items and location found if possible. We keep all items until the end of each semester, at which point they go on the free table in Wood Hall.
If you can identify the owner, use ALMA to find their phone number, call, and leave a message. Please only call and do not email. If contact requires email, please pass it on to Brian or a Collections & Access staff member.
Please use the following script if you need it:
"Hi <Patron's name>,
I'm calling from the Boley Library circulation desk to let you know a <item description> was found and returned to the circulation desk. We will have the item at the desk for you to pick up at your earliest convenience.
Thanks,
<Your name>
Boley Circulation"
